I could use some help with Resize-it
« on: January 02, 2017, 10:16:20 PM »
I've been (trying) to use the Resize-it app in order to post pics on this website, but it hasn't been working.  If any of you use it, I would very much appreciate your letting me know the exact numbers you put in the blanks when you resize a picture.

Thanks!
 :)

I've put much lower numbers in the blanks and have posting denied.  There seems to be two different symbols between the blanks, one is the X sign, and the other is sort of a chain link symbol, the meaning of which I don't know.  I've put low numbers in the blanks using both symbols and neither has worked.  I think I'll try to send Cheryl a message and ask her.

Thanks for your help.

Just select small (854x480)... that should resize both the dimensions, and the file size, and will automatically save the picture with the original file name with (small) added to the file name. Make sure you then are selecting that renamed file for upload (attachment)

Do not hit preview, as it will drop the file attached and require you to reattach it.

Also, are you trying to upload from your phone (what model) or from a desktop computer.

My Iphone is a huge pia to resize with and upload.

Some of the apps don't work at all for lowering the file size and others do better.

Cheryl, thanks for your reply.  I take the pics with my iPhone and transfer them to my iPad. Then I (try) to resize them on my pad and attach them to my message. I see no save option--just "done."  I also have to put in the numbers...don't see a place to select "small."

I will try again in a separate reply....

Brenna's fold-up gaunlets by donna manion, on Flickr

Here are some mitts I knitted.  I tried resizing in Flickr, rather than using Resize It.

Yay!   ;D. It worked!  I found a symbol that turned out to be "save."  That must have been the problem all along.  Thanks for the help!

Cheryl, your new shed is great!  Will you fill it up with CI??    :-)

Claudia and Valerie, Jasper is an angora bunny.  I trim his fur and spin it into yarn--very soft and cozy!

Thanks Donna.

This was the project for the local VoTech Carpentry class this year.
We barely goy the 'build' completed before winter!
No CI in the shed... only the yard and garden equipment which prevents me from getting even one car into the two car garage (which is where the Harley, all the electros, and ... ummm... a whole lotta Cast Iron reside).

May need a second 'IRON shed'...  ;)
Although the guys and gals that built it were so tickled with the 'largest' shed they have ever built, that they wanted to turn it into a 'TINY HOUSE' for me, with a loft, and drywall and heat, an tiny Bathroom, and..... Mybe next year!  ::) ::)
