Found this cauldron at an antique store. Would look good on my lawn.

Even better on a tripod over a fire, full of a chili!
Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny.

I totally agree. Or full of any kind of food. I really hate to see those old kettles used as a flower pot. I remember as a youngster in Ky my mothers sister used one of those often. I remember my uncle would carry water from the creek and fill the kettle and boil water for the clothes washing, all done by hand by the way. We got to help keep the fire going and playing with the fire actually. Many many years later I asked her about where that old kettle was. She said they got rid of it a long time ago and where it went she did not know.

Neat.  They use cauldrons at Old Sturbridge Village when they do sheep shearing in the spring and have a wool dying demonstration set up.  See 0:47 and 1:42 in here:

I agree Anthony.  That pot has the opportunity for a new life.  Please allow it to live yet another long and useful life.  Chili for this weekend's football games would be a great start (after it is de-rusted of course). 8-)
