sweet!  I really admire the aluminum Wagner Ware once it is polished up.   do you have the waffle iron?   I sure had a difficult time finding mine. :-/       I think some folks are not very impressed with aluminum...............UNTIL they see it all shiny and bright. ;)     wonderful job!

Very very impressive Cheryl, those are amazing. Do you happen to have before pics of the aluminum?

The Wagner aluminum are HAND polished.  The teakettle really needs the bench polisher treatment... sometime in future.

Aluminum is tough... it always looks better than it is in the before pics because it reflects light so easily...

Thanks for the pics Cheryl. I have a couple tea pots in about the same shape as the Dutch oven was. What polishing compound do you use with the power buffer?

Bob, whenever I get the chance to use the danged thing... and learn how to use it without a flying pan going airborne....  I have several different types of cloth wheels, and Rouge. (I have to go grab the packages to remember which colors).

When I start the adventure, I'll set up the video camera to share with all..

Come ON Spring (and a calm life, please) !!

Just realized, I never snapped pics of my set up.... will grab some soon...

I have a 3 wheel buffer and red, white and gray compound, use it to polish turned wooden art pieces that I make.

Forgot to add, 3 different grades of wheels.  :D

My bench polisher is two wheel...

I had purchased several different types of sisal wheels, and buffing wheels, etc.
I have red, white and gray compound and one stick of brown.  Now somewhere I have a chart that will tell me the progression of rouge with Aluminum.... I did my homework,,,,

Bought the polisher, mounted on a bench grinder stand after making a custom mounting base....

And then all hello broke loose in everyday life.....

So hand polishing until I develop the 'bench polishing' skills.

Cheryl,

Is your Dutch Oven on the opening post a marriage with that lid?  Wouldn't the 581 lid go with a 580 No. 0 Service Kettle?  Or did the 581 lid go with both the 109 and 580?

Richie, it is my understanding that the item shown above, was the bottom and top that were included in the Mother/Daughter toy set...  109 bottom with the 581 lid, so they would have been married by Griswold.  (see page 210 of BB)

<I also have a 580 Service Kettle bottom though, purchased last year>
