Need help - corn bread (stick) pan
« on: May 25, 2014, 08:48:58 AM »
I am out of town and saw a corn bread (stick) pan at an antique mall and forgot to take a picture.  Most of the few pieces of iron I saw were over priced there, but one piece I actually thought was interesting was reasonably priced.  It was the typical 11 cup bread stick pan. I did not see any marks on the handles. On the bottom, there was 22 E.  I believe this is a griswold, but no griswold anyehere I can see. The 2's remind me of the script looking 2s on the pre-griswold erie pans. I also did not see the pn 954 anywhere.  Is this griswold or anything that can be Id'd?  It was marked $18 and I can get back there this week.  Thanks!   I know it's a stretch without a picture

If the 22E is inscribed on the bottom, it is not Griswold. Could be Lodge or BSR.
Colleen, do you have the Griswold Muffin Pans book (the yellow book) by Haussler? There are so many versions of this pan, not just by Griswold, but by many other makers.

Thank you Russell and yes the 22 E was inscribed on the bottom.  I don't plan on getting into the gem pans,  so I don't have the yellow book yet.  I need to justify the blue or red book first.  My goal is to get a bunch of skillets and other pieces from different foundries and not spend a bunch of money on them!  ;)

I'm not a true collector in the sense that I am collecting all of one series or having wall hangers that I spend a bunch of money on.  Part of the fun for me is finding a really nice piece for not a lot of money.
