This would be cast iron on black. Was a good photo, but worked on it in corel paint shop pro photo xl

The one that I started with.Not much difference, but thay are better to my eye.
 note the defects in the lids (dark spots and the light spots are gone). What do you think?

Clark you are getting the picture taking/posting down to a science.  If I remember right you have a nice photo lighting setup also. Good lighting and a photo program sure makes a difference.  Can you make a crack disappear?  I mean for real not just in the picture!! ;D  Mike

Tricky, tricky, Clark - That's the way to get real good prices on e-bay!

Actually, they're really nice and show what you can do with these software packages. My wife and I just got ourselves a real nice camera for Christmas (Canon EOS Rebel - 10.2 mpx) and I'm getting back into photography, so it won't be long before I'll be needing one of these programs.

I see you use Corel, any advice?  Anyone else have recommendations on photo software?

Jim we have a Canon Power Shot G6. cheaper than the EOS, and it does not have that 35 mm feel like yours. My wife likes the Canon photo soft ware better . Every maker has photo software, all a little different and good. User frendly to you is the most inportant thing to look for in software. I got Corel on sale a while back and like it. I think that we have at least 5 outher softwares. It is a lot easer to stick with just one. ::) Because thay all do something different :-/

Clark, what does your photo setup look like?  What are you using for a light sourse?  I am trying to document my collection piece by piece and am having difficulty with the lighting.

Al, I just turn around and shoot, got them bad babs at a yard sale, a steal and I still feal bad. The bulbs are 32 & 34 k. whatever. thats why my photos are a little yellow. I use the flash as my main light. got the paper at Stables. You got to have seamless paper. Have fun, clark

Clark, did you learn to take good pictures working at that gentleman's publication you mentioned a few days ago? ;D

My Canon has a setting for incandescent lighting.  It seems to work pretty good at making the image normal and not a little yellow.

Hey Clark, great pictures. It also looks like Jeff has got you figured out Clark. Actually Larry Flynt and Clark are great friends. Lets see, where did Larry set up shop and begin his operations, answer Columbus. Now, where does Clark live and has lived for quite a long time, answer Columbus. Who gets a christmas card from Larry Flynt every year, yep, Clark Rader. SO, Clark is an accomplished photographer and does great work. Thanks for sharing your talents with us Clark.  ;)

Well yes and no, I used to go in  ;D the bars and take pictures of all the go go  :-*  you know for money. 8-). Larry got his start in Columbus also and he did better than me, besides I am not that kind of guy. That is the story of my life, and now I am a collector of cast iron. :'( :) clark
