KEYSTONE 'Food Chopper'
« on: May 08, 2016, 06:39:53 AM »
Our Sub Division had it's annual '"Sub-Sale" yesterday and I of course displayed CI for sale and had a good time... :D

I met a Gentleman who started a conversation with me about living by a foundry in Boyerstown, PA.  He told me that they made a #5 CI skillet as a promotional gift to those who purchased a "Food Chopper" (aka meat grinder?)...  He told me that they were not made in any other size and were only available if you bought the food chopper as they were not a regular item.

I just happened to have one of these skillets in the cabinet that was a regular user and I never thought anyone would ever buy it due to a bad casting flaw...
Yep.  She's gone.  Someone wanted a #5 CI user skillet and it was just sitting there looking for a new home...  Being an honest seller, (aka WAGS member) It went for the bargin price of $5.
I don't know if this skillet has been discussed recently, but It was great to learn something off the cuff and thought I'd share... ;)

I had a small 2 burner gas stove made by the Union Mfg Co Boyertown Pa, I believe they are still in business.

Thanks Larry, we have a photo of the bottom of one on our foundry pages, but no other information.  That is really cool.
