Wagner vienna roll pans

Sorry, no pictures, but page 82 of the red book shows the no.6 vienna roll pan. It says aluminum. Were these made in iron as well. What I have looks identical as the one shown without the H ghost mark.
Just wondering.

Gary, Wagner made the 6 vienna in cast iron as well as aluminum. They had various markings but I don't recall seeing one without any markings. That doesn't mean they didn't make an unmarked one in iron, just that off hand I don't recall seeing one.

The letter designation for the 6 loaf vienna is the capital I, the H was their designation for their 4 loaf pone pan.Harry

Someone on facebook said this was a Griswold based on Hausslers book page 29. I do not have the book yet, will have to look into getting it.

Page 29 does not show a pan with an 'I' on it like yours. Only the raised 'No. 6' are on the Griswold pans. Wagner used the capital letters. Could Wagner have used a Griswold pattern? Good question. After all, they only ended up buying the whole company in the late 50's.

There may have been some swapping of patterns on these pans as I have seen the Wagner pan with the I and the ghost of the Griswold PN.

This makes perfect sense to me. Wagner modifed the Griswold patterns that it got when Wagner and Griswold were thrown together. And the ghosting from the Griswold shows it was used by them to make griswold pieces. Where is Steve Stephens when you need him? He would be good for, OH, fifty or sixty posts on this topic.  ;D

I picked up this pan recently. Compared to Cheryls aluminum pan, I believe it to be an unmarked Wagner...no markings whatsoever.  I also asked about this pan in the Lodge section..

Mark, Your pan is different from Cheryl's in that your pan has openings in the part between the loaves where hers is solid. That doesn't mean to say yours isn't by Wagner as they made 6 loaf Vienna's with the openings like yours.

Hey good eye, Harry.. I was looking at the sides and missed that. But looking at the sides, could it be anything but Wagner?
