Would a  1287 # 7 lid be the right one

A 1278 is the number on my #8 DO. Exact same markings on the bottom of your #7 except for the #8. I'm not sure if I have an original lid with mine, either. It's glass without any Griswold name on it.

I have a #7 Tite Top Dutch oven lid P/N 2604 is the number. I have no bottom for it, but I am sure they are for each other.

The measurements  are outside 9 1/4'' inside 8 7/8
if that helps.

2604 has similar dimensions. Just a little smaller than 8-7/8, by 9-1/4
