Does anyone know, is this made by Lodge? Looks an awful lot like their assist handle.

Wow Roy, thats an interesing link. According to them you can do everything but drive nails with a nickel plated skillet. Thats a good advertisement. I looked up a chefs skillet on that site. You can get one for 184.00 and change plus shipping I suppose. They said there was no limit and I could buy as many as I wanted.

MD, thats for the skillet in the picture, which is not a chefs skillet. If you search the site for a chefs skillet, the 11" one is 184.95 plus shipping. Lot of bucks.  :(

A year or two ago someone was offering nickel plated prototype skillets plated from new Lodge pans and claimed all sorts of things as to the durability of them.  I bet this is from the same source but he's now in serious production.
