We discussed this before, but I don't remember when, but isn't this a LODGE?

If it is Lodge, then its different from any of the other Lodge I've seen.

1. The pour spout is too large.
2. Lodge used a machine that produced small dimples, this pan has large.
3. The pan is flat bottomed, Lodge traditionally uses a heat ring.
4. The handle is not consistent with any other Lodge I've seen.

I'm not saying its not Lodge, just that if it is, its one odd duck.

I found A strange lodge! It has those half moons for A heat ring . Just like the d/o C.P.R. is holding up in the lodge house tour.
Only mine is white porcelain inside and out. And iron inside the moons!

I'd be very surprised if Lodge made that hammered skillet for all the reasons Darrel mentions.  Brian, I've had and seen a few of the Lodge pieces with half moon bottoms and they were porcelain like you mentioned.

Brian, Steve, I have a cast iron pan w/sk handle with those half moons on the bottom. I don't know that thay are Lodge? And I know what the lady said. She would not lye, but she might repeat what her husband said. Did Lodge porcelain anything around this period?

I don't know about Lodge's porcelain but they did do it on many of the moon bottom pots.  What era I don't know but probably in the 30's.   There were several of the moon pots at the old Lodge house we saw on the tour.  Plus, at least some of the moon pots have the little raised Lodge style letter on the underside.  I know very little about these obscure pots.

What I have is A skillet. Not even sure what size yet( it was heavily cruded) But it set inside of an 8 at the auction. so 7 or 6?
I have it in my electro bath. Its cleaning it because of the iron inside the moons( I think ? ) But my electro is cleaning it! just slower than normal.

The side walls of the skillet are strange also. they go up, then flare out, then there is A heavy ring. Looks like they were made to stack almost ?

Its A strange one?

That is like the one I had and I think I've seen another one.  Lodge probably didn't make too many different pieces with the 1/2moon bottoms.  It's a Lodge for sure.

I ran across a Lodge kettle and lid with porcelain interiors in a local antique mall. I took pictures since the porcelain would seem to verify the lid and bottom were made as a set and the lid verifies it is a Lodge piece. Pics to follow.

I have one of these with three little dots that appear to be drilled into the handle. You see them around some in this area. Really sleek handle and not a bad casting.

Now I wonder if this goes with it.

Troy, that's from Chicago Hardware Foundry Co., and probably made for Sears.  The number on the bottom is a 90 and not an 06.  I don't know if CHF made these deep fat fryers in the deeply hammered pattern also but they made many of the hammered pieces in deep and shallow patterns.  I think the deep ones were Sears "best" quality and the shallow ones the "better" quality.
