Mini Double Skillet?

I found this really neat little piece of cast iron at a friends mothers house and would really appreciate some help in identifying it. If more pictures are needed just let me know. Thanks, Teri

That's pretty neat Teri.  Is that old cooking gunk on the pot?  It looks like it's been used for real cooking and, at the size it is, is probably not a toy but a real piece but just quite small.  I don't think I have seen one like this before.  Can you post a photo of the bottom of the bottom part?  I'm wondering if it has a gate mark or any features that might help date the piece.

To me, this item looks like it is new (newer). The round tab handles look like the ones that are on the pieces made by our Asian friends and it looks very heavily made and klunkish. Also, it does not seem to have clean lines and fine casting, unless it is a very very old piece, possibly pre 1900, but I just don't think so. I may be wrong and have been before but thats what it looks like to me anyway.

Isn't there a full sized (about a No.8) piece very much like this little pot and it also has similiar lips, handles, and is very heavily cast?  Pretty sure I've seen such a larger piece and it wasn't terribly old but may have been 30's -40's.

Here is the other side of both pieces. I hope this helps. The pan doesn't seem to have cooking build up on it, but the cast is very rough. The white spots are like a film of some kind. I greatly appreciate the responses so far.   :) :)

Steve,
You metioned a larger one. I think I have the top to what you have seen. I will attach  the pictures of it also.

I saw one of these on Ebay just a few days ago and think it expired today.  The only things I noted were 1. No gatemark, 2. serious cooking buildup, 3. very clunky looking casting.

I've seen at least one other, both in the SouthEast U.S.

Teri,
Yes, that's the larger one I thought I have seen.  It and your little one do look to be from the same foundry which, to me, is a mystery.
