Hello from Long Island
« on: January 25, 2019, 06:28:33 PM »
Hello, and thanks for all the info on this site. We recently acquired our first two pieces of cast - a #6 Griswold and an unmarked #3. Thanks also for the quick approval for access to the site.

Welcome Greg, from Marietta, GA! (The land where, even though the temperature will be above freezing all day tomorrow, schools have already announced they are closing due to “possible snow flurries”.)

Hello Greg,
Welcome from Temecula, in sunny Southern California.  Look around and enjoy the best spot on the web to learn about cast iron.

Bethpage has changed quite a bit since then - no more farms and lots of traffic!

I have few memories of LI.  I do remember going to a turkey farm to pick out a turkey for Thanksgiving.

My dad passed away in 2010.  He and my sister were talking a few years before his death.  I had no idea what they were talking about, so I asked.  Dad bought two nice pieces of property in the village Amagansett in the 1950s.   Sold them after we moved to CT, commenting that there was ”scrub and sand” out there.  Not going to go all the way out to Amagansett from CT.  I check home prices there every now-and-then.  Yeesh!
