Griddle handle numbers
« on: May 20, 2020, 07:19:35 PM »
I am new to Griswold collecting and I just got these two 8 griddles.  As I was seasoning the second pan I noticed one pan has a number 8 on the handle and the other pan does not.  I cannot seem to find info as to why?  Can anyone help please?

Hello Tiffany.  It is my opinion that the griddle on the left with # on top of handle is likely to be an earlier produced piece, as it appears to have a slightly more tear drop handle opening.  Slight variations occurred over time in design and features. :)

Thank you so much for the info.  I am keeping one pan and giving the other one away so I’ll gift the older one because I would imagine that would be more valuable. I am keeping mine to use all the time but I’m giving the second one to someone who collects CI and it probably won’t be used much.
