Wagner web site
« on: July 07, 2007, 01:16:05 PM »
I was checking out their web site. They show some nice polished skillets. Just wondering if anyone has seen anything from them. I emailed them and was told that all of the cast iron was made in the Sidney plant. Can anyone confirm? I am a photographer and was trying to get in to shoot some pics, but was told it was closed up and being moved.
Thanks
Mike

Ya,  probably Sidney China. ;D   They will never pour iron again in Sidney Ohio.   EPA will keep that from happening. :'(

The iron cookware that was left in the Wagner foundry when it closed in 1999 was being "reconditioned" and finished and boxed when we toured the plant about 3 years ago.  I've heard there is nothing left there now (in the foundry).  I, too, wonder what the state of the company is currently as I am unaware of any new product available in stores.

The problem is they do show the bottom to verify the markings

I recall most of the iron cookware in the Wagner foundry that was reconditioned was of the 1891 Original variety with a smattering of newer 'oval logo" pieces made c.1997-99.
