No idea of the maker but they seem to be reasonably plentiful in Missouri so I'd guess possibly St. Louis.  These are a nice bunch of gem pans made with cups that equate to the R&E and Waterman Nos.1 (looks like the one you have), 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 (I think) and I have not seen any other ones.  Usually nice castings and side gated.

I should add that the numbering system for these pans does not follow the normal one that was used by so many makers.  Only one or, possibly, two of these pans have a number that corresponds to the normal and some pans are unnumbered.  Clark, you say "cutouts".  Do you mean holes in the pan or the shape of each muffin?  I've never seen any of these pans with what we normally call "cutouts" except for the oval handle holes.  Photos??

Thanks Clark, aren't those neat pans?  I sold several but kept about 4 that I liked the best.  The one that looks like a Waterman 4 pan is maybe the nicest looking but yours is a goodie, too.  You did a nice job of filling in the cutouts you said the pan had.  Picture perfect!

Thanks Steve and Clark, my old camera doesn't take good pics. The pan is a nicely cast piece and  very much like Clarks' pics.  It is a very thin and light weight casting and side gated.   Clark you have turned into the photo expert of the forum lately!  Thanks for sharing the pics of your iron!  Mike

Could it be from Chattanooga?  I will email the seller and ask how they got that info.

Steve I hope that info turns out to be good from the seller.
Carla, I go to auctions,  ;) I picked up some photo lights + I always use my flash, role of white paper, 7.1 pixle newer cammera and better software. Just high tec. stuf that I just don't under stand at all. Just push the button.
PS I thing everybody has been taking a lot better photos for all these reasons and the WAGS sight has helped a lot by letting us post bigger and more pixle, ect. just high teck. I guess.

Steve, I found mine is So. IL, less than 100 miles from St. Louis and the seller of the one on Ebay is from MO.  So maybe your original thought of a St. Louis area foundry may be correct.  That is unless seller can provide additional info from his piece. Mike

I mentioned to a friend who used to be a big collector about the possibility of these pans being from Chattanooga Stove Foundry and he said that what he's seen from Chattanooga is all pretty clunky and these pans aren't clunky at all and exhibit fine casting so I am leary of the claim by the seller.
