OK, here it is. There are so many things "wrong" with this skillet I'd be inclined to think it's a fake. But, why anyone would fake this... I dunno (I find my self say that a lot in regards to this pan LOL!)

Note the grainy texture, this carries through out the entire outside of the pan. Note at the top of the S in Griswold, there appears to be a small circle pressed into the iron

Note the mold boo-boo to the right of "Erie" Note that the 4 in 704B is unevenly spaced.

This picture also shows the grainy texture of the outside of the skillet. Also looks to be uneven where the handle attaches to the body.

Despite all the other "issues" the inside is smooth as silk. This picture was taken before seasoning.
So... whatcha think? The finish work on this pan is rough, the exterior itself is rough, the logo is kinda wonky, But, it's very light (lighter than my regular slant Erie #8) and super smooth inside.
Bit of an oddball?
