Mother Nature Strikes Again

I hope everyone is ready for this latest installment in Mother Nature's reminder that She is very firmly in control.  Although my little area will not be nearly as bad as my neighbors to the North, Duke, in particular, it is still going to be a far cry from what I usually experience.  The prediction for Livingston is for maybe a half inch of ice, rain for the better part of two days, and temps in the low twenties, with a wind chill as low as 5 to 15 degrees on Monday.   My hat is off to all you Members that live through this every year. I don't know how you do it. I was in the Nashville area in '87 to '89 and I got just a little taste of your regular winter weather. That was enough for me. Good Luck, stay dry, and stay warm.

I'm trying to keep one E-tank running 24-7 to keep it thawed but I think I may have lost the battle last night with temps around 1 degree. And gonna be worse tonight. I guess it's break time.

Good luck with that, Craig.  The rain started about 20 minutes ago, but the really fun part starts tomorrow when the bottom drops out of the thermometer and we hit the teens or even the single digits. Your 1 degree makes my temps almost balmy.

O my goodness! y'all have been a bit lucky !

I am still trying to thaw out on March 6 !!

In past weeks, we got hit with  -27° below, and I live in Southern PA !!!!!

It has been a whole lotta years since we've had this type of cold !! (can't remember ever seeing minus 27 degrees though, in 70 years! )

Had a two foot snow dump (which has finally melted slowly, oh so slowly) , still keeping fingers cross over the next few days that temperatures continue to rise !

Cheryl, I feel for you. I lived in the Nashville area for a couple of years in the late '80's, and saw some temps as low as 7 or 8, but don't remember any negative numbers.  Lots of snow and ice. I finally made it back home, where I belong, and while I ran into some single digit and teen temps while working in the Carlton, Tx area, I don't do cold very well.  My hat is off to all you northern states residents.  Anything below 65 to 70 is a great time to crank up a fire. Forecast for today is in the mid 80's, lows in the upper 60's.  Wish I could ship you some of this heat.

Severe weather season here in central Ks. A bit early. Strong winds, heavy rain, and hail last night. 2 dead in Ok. from a tornado. Supposed to be worse tonight. But at least it's not -27.

I still have snow on a lot of my property, even with the temps in the 60s the past 3 days.  We're forecast to have rain tonight and tomorrow rain turning to snow, then back into the teens at night.

Well, about 6 hours ago the SIRENS were on full blast all around us... we were on the way to the basement after every emergency alert on my phones and devices were blaring at me to take cover!   I mean really... I live in PENNSYLVANIA!!!

It skipped over us and then tried to touch down in Hershey PA  (Chocolate Town USA!)

I am glad that you all dodged the bullet(s) again.  I received 7/8ths of an inch in my rain gauge yesterday and overnight, had some fairly stiff wind, but no damage. Cheryl, that is an awesome picture of the tornado/funnel cloud trying to develop. My wife really likes cloud pictures, and I think that yours  will be among her favorites.  Keep on keeping on, everybody.

I live in northeast Texas and had a tornado warning last Sunday. I’m in Pittsburg PA on business and was in a tornado warning yesterday morning. No place to hide!😁

Yup... Pittsburg was a real mess when watching the Weather on local Radar.....

Mother Nature is a mess in all of PA..... and drives the Weather Men here nutso... 

(Because we got Mountains !  Nothing like the Rockies but the Blue Mountain range is part of the reason.. and I live about one half mile from the base of said Mountain range.....

Heck few years,  it was Forest Wild Fires up on the mountain!... moving toward us low landers... 

We had fly over Forest Fire Tankers over head... !

'26 is a Winter I won't forget.  We are back in the teens every night until March 22.  Today the high and low temps were 6 degrees apart.  Thing is, I like cold weather, snow, Winter as a season, but still this Winter has been a pain in the a$$.

Yep... we are back in the Frozen Zone... again!
 
Good Grief!.... 48  hours ago I was staring in disbelief at my  outdoor 'weather' stations, clocking the Temp as 82 Degrees!!!!!!

Yesterday it started to drop like a rock....

Complete with the SIRENS sounding all around us before dark, 
 as the Tornado skipped all around us!
(and we headed for the Basement!)

We got lucky, other areas not so much...
.
As I Type this it is now 32 degrees... so back to freezing again!
