ID Needed - Unknown Item
« on: November 11, 2021, 09:31:53 PM »
I’ve looked and looked but cannot find ANYTHING related to this item, for lack of a better term. I thought it might be a juicer, bagel pan, or ashtray, but I’m just not sure.

It’s hammered and has unique markings. Is that a swing arm/crane and kettle? Could it be old? Could the feet be sprue marks? Has anyone seen this logo or item?

Thanks in advance!

Sorry, no idea
Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny.

"Oriental"
That is the first thing I thought when I saw the writing on the bottom.

It has pour spouts, 3 legs and a handle

It does look oldish...how heavy is it?
Is there any grind marks anywhere that would indicate how it was molded

About 15 years ago, a # 3 skillet came up with similar type letter markings. I was able to get one at a local flea market. The finish was satin perfect. Some thought Griswold for some reason. Don't think origin of cast was ever nailed down. Anyone remember that one :scratchchin: :question-marks:

Thanks, all.

I cannot find ONE other example of the identifying information. I suspect imported, but that is just my gut and nothing more.

I will post additional pictures but there does seem to be a side "grind" around the rim to suggest a side gate. I would love to see any other close examples if anyone can recall Duke's post.

Anyone else see HF and a hanging man as the marks?

I see it more of a hanging pot than a hanging man

I know I've seen this before. Don't quote me yet, but it might be part of an Asian tea set. I'll keep looking.

My final idea is an Oriental makers/molders mark.

I originally thought it was a hangman!

I do think it is Asian, but that is without proof in either direction. Regardless, I find it interesting and worth simply holding on to.
