Lodge Square Skillet with 3 Dots on Skillet Bottom?
« on: December 20, 2015, 12:38:57 PM »
I think this is a Lodge because I have several 3 notch heat ring skillets with the same 3 dots on the bottom. But this square skillet has no other markings. I also have a couple lodge's with dots on the handle. I've read these are just quality control dots so that the foundry knew their mold source, but I'm not sure how many foundry's used the dot method. It has a continuous handle ridge kinda of like a BSR. Measures 10-1/8" square, 1-5/8" high, 15-3/8" long with the handle.

With that handle, I'd say the square skillet is BSR.

The dots would be pattern marks. :)

You know, I would have said the same thing, except I had a BSR and it had some markings on it for size etc. I just don't know much about Lodge, except the basics.

Outer side wall to outer sidewall on a BSR Square Skillet would be...

10 1/4".

I measure it on the outside as well, not the inside, 10-1/8", using a high quality steel rule that I also use for my woodworking.
