It is BSR.  The rope like handles tell the story.....

Thanks... I thought BSR, but like confirmation. It might end up at our next WAGS convention swap meet, who knows ;)

That's really cool. What are the dimensions and what was it used for?

It was to be used with the Sportsman charcoal grill that was made by BS&R as a fryer. There were two sizes, a shallow fryer and a deep fryer. The one pictured will also fit  the lid from the deep fryer. The lid could be used as a smooth or ribbed griddle.

An older version of the pan had square handles and the lid would not fit.

Lodge later made the same fryers but the handles were not rope like but flat on top.

Just looked up a BSR Sportsman grill--very nice indeed. Now all Stuart needs to do is find the grill :)

An additional bit of information and clarification.   BSR began making the flat on top handles, circa 1970's.  Lodge continued production of that handle design in the 90's.

Thanks for clarifying. So when did BS&R stop making the square handles and start making the round rope handles?

I had heard that the flat top handles were made by Lodge and was done when BS&R had Lodge doing their casting. But you can't believe everything you hear or read. :D
