Identification
« on: November 05, 2014, 01:18:10 PM »
Alright so I took some close ups of these pans from a picture and was hoping someone could possibly tell me the maker or the model of each pan. Ive been told one is a new england muffin pan but what is the other one? An ebelskiver or egg poacher?  Thanks for the help.

I can't tell you who made either of them.  The NES pan has a handle on the side as opposed to the tabs on the ends.  I don't remember seeing one like that before.  The aebleskiver pan has only 4 wells and they look deep. These usually have seven. It may have also been considered to be an egg poacher as some of the old catalogs list them that way.  They both look really old.  I would bet they are both bottom gated pieces just by the looks of the handles.  They probably date to late 1800's or early 1900's.  Even if they are marked, which I can't tell, there may not be any info out there on them.  Sorry I can't be of any more help.

I have, at one time, seen that side handled muffin pan, but like Rodger I know nothing about it. I have never seen that 4 cup "egg poacher" pan. It has always amused me that this type thing was called an egg poacher, because that is not how to poach an egg.
Hold still rabbit, so I can cook you.

The NES pan has been on ebay before. If you look closely, you can see raised lettering. I know it's a north eastern foundry or one with "hardware" in it's name. The seller wanted big bucks for it.
