« on: August 19, 2007, 08:25:37 PM »
Got this little guy.   Thanks to all of the BS&R conversations,  I am starting to collect this maker now.   Thanks guys,  like I need more to collect ::)   Just thought I would post the little guy.

Any idea when it was made?

Likewise Will... I found a BSR ashtray a while back with the raised lettering in the bottom of the skillet. Could not live without it :( Cleaned up nice :) But is there ANY domestic that we don't have an interest in???

You ashed for it-

Here's a different BS&R ashtray.  No such a nice design as the earlier(?) one posted above.

Thanks Will for that extra photo. Talked to Mr. Jones last night and I didn't get much in the way of a date. It is before the DESI machines. I need to place a call to M.r Mooreman again, being a salesman he might remember more. I've been trying to get some general dates to date BS&R items. Not much luck thus far. Will, On your ashtray, BS&R used that style for advertising themself's and other businesses. I was told that the pattern was just the plain flat rimmed ashtray, and then the letters would be added to the rim. They were held in place with wax. Steve's was post DESI, the plain ashtray pattern would be modified with a disk that had letters, logos, ect. on it.

Thanks for the info Dwayne.   I thought it was older.   It had that aura about it.

Will you be going to York?   I will be there.   Would like to meet everyone that adds allot to this forum.
