It is a very sad day in our collector’s group
« on: April 02, 2021, 08:35:04 PM »
It is with a very heavy heart that i must announce the passing of a great friend and fellow collector Larry Foxx. I had the great privilege of knowing Larry very wel and played a lot of golf with him at WAGS  conventions. Larry, Dave Smith and I did the “stump the experts” at the conventions and Larry was in charge of the repros for many years at our conventions.

Larry’s wife, Susie, is doing well and says “we just need to keep moving forward “.

RIP, my friend, leave me some cast iron to find in Heaven!!

And what a crew that was !!.. Larry used to tell me stories. He told me, as going through the pieces at the Conventions, he wanted to jump on the Erie/ Griswold , and when he came across something else, he said all you do is...Greg, Dave, you want to take this one ?"  I have been Blessed to have had Uncle Larry in my life for nearly 70 years (1 Month shy). An incredible individual. Sue and Larry's 70th Wedding Anniversary was later this Year, as they Married the Year I was born.   Edit to add: He thought the World of WAGS and it's Members.

My heart felt Sympathies to Susie, and their Children (which includes You Jim Fuchs).

I was blessed to be able to visit with Larry and Susie on a few occasions.

One trip was to take my S&G Tea Kettle to visit with them.  Larry was excited to see it !

I left it sitting in the kitchen, while Susie took me into the Front Room to show me something...

Next think I knew, Larry was Shouting from the Kitchen...

"Susie, keep her busy for awhile, so I can get a running head start! "...

The S&G TK was in danger of disappearing out the back door !!  (or so Larry stated!)

Update:
The Foxx family requests that no flowers be sent. If anyone wants to, in lieu of flowers, the Family asks that donations be made to the Boots on the Ground (United Soldiers and Sailors of America) or the Wounded Warriors Project.

So so sad... my heartfelt condolences to Sue and her family.  Larry's passing will be a huge adjustment for them and also for all the rest of us.
He was extremely knowledgeable and was always more than willing to share what he knew.  Every conversation with him was always a learning experience for me.

Rest peacefully, Larry, and know you are sorely missed.

Such a kind gentleman, he will be greatly missed.

So very sorry to hear of Larry's passing.  Lynne and I extend our heartfelt condolences to Sue and their family.  One of our fondest memories is visiting with Larry and Sue at their home and following Larry around the house as he showed us his vast collection of iron. It was always a pleasure to visit with him at the conventions....He will truly be missed!!  Rest in peace Larry.

With prayers for Sue and the family,

Scott & Lynne

I believe it was 1994 that my wife and I went to Erie to meet other griswold collectors. I had been collecting iron for a long time but never been around people that had my same interest. Maybe a dozen people in the room but two people gained my attention right away. Larry and Sue walked up and welcomed us to the meeting. We new right away that we had met two people that would be our friends for a long time. Larry Foxx was a very special friend.
