Greetings from Wisconsin
« on: December 26, 2019, 09:44:07 PM »
My name is David and I have been acquiring various cast iron pieces over the last 6 or 7 years. I get most of my pieces from thrift stores or estate sales. I've been lucky to find pieces that have not had a lot of rust or damage. All of my recent finds go in to a lye bath, get cleaned up and then in to a vinegar bath followed by seasoning in the oven with a light coating of Crisco.

I'm here to learn about some of the history and how to identify and date some of the pieces I have.

Welcome
Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny.
