How would I identify the right base for my waffle iron
« on: December 16, 2019, 09:34:20 PM »
I found a Wagner Ware waffle iron a few days back and bought it without realizing it should have come with a base. The iron itself has the stylized “W” Wagner Ware logo, lists a 1910 patent, and is a #9 size. I’d like to pair this with a base, but they don’t seem to have been marked as well as the Griswold were. I’ve been told by someone with the same iron that his base has a CH under the socket, but that seems a little abbreviated for an identifying mark. Can anyone here give me any guidance? I just want to get this thing into use!

Wagner did seem to have that issue with the bases. I have a 7 and an 8, each without markings on the base.
In the world of waffle irons, paddles are the easy part. You don't come across too many spare bases. They usually cost more than the paddles too. And #9 is much tougher to find than #8 which is the most common.
Look on ebay for the style. I would say that the inner diameter of a #9 base would be about 8 5/8" or an 1/8" wider than the outside diameter of your paddles.
