New cast iron manufacturer on kickstarter
« on: November 15, 2019, 06:45:53 PM »
My apologies if this has been covered already-I searched for Prepd’ and came up blank.
What do people think about this design? Looks like they are ‘looking back’ to more highly-polished cooking surfaces. The kickstarter has been wildly successful-over $1,000,000 committed so far.
Interested in thoughts about the design; how it might affect markets for old cast iron; quality of the iron made in China; any other aspects? I have no financial nyerest or connectipn to the company or brand “ Prepd”.

You just can't beat the older cast iron..not only for quality but for price...even the unmarked Wagner stuff is lots more inexpensive.

As for the milled surfaces, I prefer the  poured smooth casting which is a product of a more refined casting technique over a milled surface.

Just my opinion
