Camp Dutch oven...
« on: October 14, 2019, 10:16:16 AM »
I've been thinking of buying a Camp Dutch oven and came across this for 20 beans at an estate sale. It's pretty rough on the inside so I don't think It's very old. There are no visible markings of any type at the moment. It's gonna make a great addition to the camping gear, though! Any information on it would be appreciated.
Thank you for any and all comments and replies...

Can you post an outside photo of the bottom with the legs, and a close up of the lid? I do not see a size marking on the lid as is. If there are no size markings on it, a diameter measurement of the open oven would be good too.

So... Here's a few more pics. The oven has an inside diameter of 12" and the handle on top of the list is more stout on one side.

I believe that came over from the other side of the pond. As you are just starting out though I believe you could clean that up and start using it and it would serve you. My first one was a gift and came from over there and I still use it to this day. Our scout troop has several from over there and one that looks just like yours and they can feed the hungry troops. Glad to see you interested in joining the ranks of camp oven cookers, beware you stand a good chance of getting hooked.

I echo the others in the "overseas" production, but it will cook just fine. But if your getting into this type if cooking Lodge and BSR are hard to beat. Many of mine I obtained for 20 bucks.
