Erie help
« on: July 26, 2019, 05:52:33 PM »
Hello all:

What series are these? I am guessing #2 but not sure.

Can they be salvaged?

Thanks,

Stan

Hello Stan!

The ERIE on the right is a Second Series ERIE with a maker's mark.

The ERIE on the Left is likely a Second or Third Series... unfortunately the sulphur pitting on the bottom makes it difficult to see if there is a pattern number or not.

You can find printable charts and Articles about ERIE Skillets here:

http://www.wag-society.org/guest/Erie_Skillet_Article.htm

and yes, absolutely, they can be salvaged.! :)

(if they have cracks, it may not be worth it though...)

Some of my best User skillets are ERIE and Other makers with sulphur pitting on the bottoms.  They still cook fine, although the Collector Value is no longer there.

Hope that helps. :)
