Mini Corn Stick ID?
« on: July 04, 2019, 02:44:29 PM »
Hi everyone.

My brother picked this up at a garage sale.

It is 4x8 inches.

Does anyone know who made this?

Thanks,
C.J.

Sure looks Asian to me BUT that 7 T makes BSR come to mind. [smiley=scratchchin.gif]

Agreed.
That was my first thought except the handle is wrong for a normal BSR. But maybe they made these different because of the small size.

The 7T may have been added to throw us off.  Sneaky!

I think in the EBay add i will tell him to say it is a one off prototype from BSR that was smuggled out of the factory and is worth about a gajillion dollars.  AND it was probably used by George Washington or the Pope, not sure which.  ;D

 That should get some bids.

That is not a BSR pan.
The BSR 7-TS is the same as their 7-S, but Teflon Coated, and pan measurements are 5 1/2 x 11 1/8, cobs 1 3/8 x 5 1/4.

Someone said BSR lists a tea size in a Red Mountain catalog.
I would think this is too small for the normal M tabs.

I don't know for sure but it may be BSR.

I do not consider this Cornstick pan to be ASW/BSR.

Unknown maker.

As Tom stated above, the only 'Stock' # - Catalog number containing a "T" in/on a BSR/ASW Catalog or price sheet, is for a BSR Cornstick pan, Teflon Coated, beginning in 1966.

Furthermore, during the beginning time frame of BSR producing their "tea size" cornstick pan,(and other sizes), WAGNER still held the patent, and we KNOW with a high degree of certainty that ASW/BSR was not one to risk a patent violation / lawsuit.

If, in fact, you possess information that is 'proof' positive that this is an ASW/BSR produced item, I would be very interested in seeing it.  :) :)

Defiantly no proof here.  i was just going by someone saying they saw a Tea sized in a Red Mountain era catalog.

I may have to buy it from my brother just for the novelty.

Thanks for your input, it is much appreciated.

BSRs "tea size" cob pan is listed in their 1030s catalog as a
7-(tea size), cobs size 25/32 in x 3 11/16 in
pan size 4 in x 8 in, weight average 1 1/2 lbs, typical BSR handle. So far all the BSR Cob Pans I have seen all have the
typical BSR handle, never a round hang hole, sizes are measured on the pan, do not include the handles.
What are the cob measurements on your pan and it's weight ??
Right now, I question the handle/hang hole and would venture it is a updated copy with newer style handles, but that is just my opinion, and could change with more information.

Tom, i appreciate you checking the old catalog.

Weight on this one is 1 lb 6.6 Oz.
Cob size is about 3/4 x 3 5/8
Size without handle is 4 x 6 7/8 inches.

All this confirms it as an unknown maker.

He can now list it as unknown on eBay.

Thanks for everyone's help.

You are most welcome C.J., I would have liked it to have been a BSR, the old size early pans are not easy to come by, but with both the overall length and the handles being wrong, it just doesn't be BSR.
