Gate mark ERIE no. 8 with raised 8
« on: March 09, 2019, 10:45:50 AM »
I have acquired this gate mark ERIE pan with a stamped 8 and a raised, large 8 with 3 casting nubs.  I assume this pan is from the 1800's but I have never seen this raised 8 before.  Can anyone pinpoint its age and tell me something about it?  Much thanks!

Well first off, it is not a real ERIE from Griswold Manufacturing.  It was likely made using a real ERIE skillet as a pattern to make a mold and then they added in the raised 8 and the legs.  Can't possibly date it either, as it could have been made yesterday, since it is a fake.  Likely made in the 20th century as a best guess.

Chris thst is one I haven't seen before, pretty Cool. Like Greg said it was made using a Erie as a pattern so dating is impossible, but neat piece
