#5 lid on a #12 dutch oven??
« on: November 30, 2018, 09:20:43 AM »
Good morning everyone...  new to the site here....
my dad brought me over a #12 dutch oven (camp style with the legs and flat lid)

The bottom of the oven just says Made in the USA and has a 12 on it., i think also a 0 or D at the bottom as well...so I understand its a post 1960...the lid has a "5 on it... the underside has a large gate mark...and the handle has a seam in the middle of it, I would think the lid number would match the oven...  any thought on what this might be?  Thanks...

I would date the bottom oven later than the 1960's. They used the "Made In USA" pattern into the 1990's. It would be difficult to narrow it to a specific decade just for that reason.
