Posting Pictures on the WAGS Forum... Gentle Reminder.
« on: July 13, 2016, 04:20:30 PM »
I ask that when posting pictures here on the Forum, that pictures be uploaded directly, please.

Help and instructions can be found here:
http://www.griswoldandwagner.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?num=1383802487

There has been an increase recently in posting imbedded links to online image servers, and I am observing a high rate of pop ups, browser hijacks, and browser crashes, associated with those links.

I warn our other members to be wary when clicking on the photos to view larger photo's from those servers.  Photobucket has become particularly problematic.

If the problems continue, it may be necessary to ban those web url's.

I understand that sometimes resizing can be a bit challenging, but we are willing to help all to learn how.  :) :)

Hint taken. :)

Any instructions to upload directly from android phone?   I don't get a browse button.   I get a choose file button.   It will let me take a picture but not choose an existing one.

Eta: if you click on documemts, it will pull up photos.   I will try to go this route from now on.   I didn't realize photo bucket caused these problems.   I just like using full size photos for more detail.

Yup... I get the Choose File on my iPhone, using Safari.

The thing to watch out for is the file SIZE... 350 kb is the current Forum maximum.

Depends on the device whether you can set maximum file size when taking the pic.

My iPhone 5s does not allow that, and I have to resize using an app.  :( :(

The "Image Size" app mentioned on the How to Post is seeming to work the best for me.  I resize to 800x600, and that reduces the overall file size to under 100 kb :)
