Look at these legs... Potjie Pot
« on: September 09, 2016, 03:08:47 PM »
I've wanted one for years... finally found one at a local estate sale ;D The inside has some rust, but is salvageable. It seems that I may have found the "Erie" of potjie pots, it's a Falkirk size 4.
I found a reference on a overseas forum, Falkirk was in Scotland in the 1800's and had a branch in South Africa, went out of business around 1980.

here's some history

The website selling the current model shows "Size 4 Kettle Height: 12.0" Width: 12.0" Capacity: 2.25 Gallon"

I just went to the garage for a quick measurement, it looks like mine is about 3/4" smaller... the kettle itself is around 9" deep.
