Dutch oven lid
« on: April 26, 2016, 07:43:00 PM »
Anyone know who made this lid? Its not marked and is 11 1/2 wide so it would be a #10 . Fits loose on a Griswold #10 skillet. I don't have a oven to try it on.

I would say a DO lid, but to what?  don't know.

Hopefully some faint markings will appear when cleaned up.

Looks similar to some of our eastern cousins work.
Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny.

Thanks for the thoughts on it .I thought also that it must be an import.  After cleaning, it has a much smoother and black finish than new Lodge, more like the later Wagner. With no markings or basting rings I'm now thinking older import.
