special significance to a flathead screw mark on bottom?

I was just curious if anyone knows whether or not there is any significance to a flathead screw mark on the bottom of a skillet.  Or in this case a popover pan.

Nope, no significance whatsoever.

It was common practice, that when a pattern in the foundry was suspect (possible problem), that a screw was placed in the pattern for tracking purposes..
