Is it aluminum,  or plated iron?   Put a magnet to it.   A picture of the bottom and the handles would help.

That is cool.  I especially like the way the cover locks on to the pan with the ear tabs.  BTW if you've not already found them, there are directions for cleaning aluminum in the cleaning and restoring link above.

Thank you! This group has some great information! This pan has been is storage for years. I would never have thought this would come clean. Do you think, I might find any manufacture marks, when I clean this? ::)

::)Would this pan be aluminum or cast iron? I would think aluminum, but I wanted to make sure.

Thank You!

Yeah, aluminum. Should be really nice for slow roasting. I really like those locking handles!

Does a magnet stick to it?  Always carry a small magnet with you when you are out and about, as sometimes it is tough to tell on dirty ones.

I've not seen an oven like this with the interlocking lid, neat!

Dave, You might find a maker's mark, but the bottom looks clean enough to show one were it there.  My ancient cast aluminum roaster has a mark that's barely legible... probably worn from years of dragging it across stove burners or oven racks.  Yours is in really good shape compared to a lot I've seen.

;DThank You ! I did find out that this did belong to my great grandmother, and was given to grandmother. So I am sure this pan is several years old. When I get it clean I will post pictures.

Thank You! :)
