Wagner without quote marks
« on: May 15, 2006, 10:40:33 PM »
Found what I believe is a 1915-1920's Series Wagner skillet.  This one does not have any Quotes  around Wagner like shown in the book. Not even a ghost of them when examined closely. Is this a common variance in these skillets? I like the handle on this one, the reinforcing rib goes all the way to the point of the tear drop. Thanks Dwayne

I have noticed that Wagners quotes are very light.  Very hard to see on some.    And some don't have any.

Will, I have noticed that the ones that don't have any quotes are usually the most difficult ones to see.

Quotes or no quotes; much like the posts here on WAGS forum.   Dwayne, your pan should be before 1915 as that is when the large, common W logo came out I think.

Yair and Will. In my collection of Wagner skillets, I have several quoted pieces without the "quotes".  ;D

Steve:
Once again you're  on the money. According to the US Trademark website, the Shared W was trademarked and first used in 1915.

Perry, can I quote you on that? [smiley=hysterical.gif]

Dwayne, this is interesting.  I hadn't paid any attention to the quotes before.  Now I've got to see which ones I have and which ones I don't have.  :-/

Yes, you can "quote" me on that Roger. Just don't misquote me. So does that mean the skillets with no quotes are misquoted? :o
