Vollrath Confusion
« on: March 07, 2006, 09:22:19 AM »
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6258565211&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

Has the seller misstated this... isn't this a cover for a Colony Chicken Fryer as shown in Eye Candy and also on page 243 of the red book?

Reason for asking... I have an identical cover that needs a mate.  Do CCF's have outside heat rings and side-positioned numbers as with regular Vollrath Skillets?

Thanks for any and all help.

Sandy,

Here is a quick picture of the bottom of the skillet that goes with the eye candy cover.

The Vollrath #8 Chicken Fryer I have is a slightly different variation. The lid is the same though.

Dwayne,
Aern't chicken fryers deep? Yours looks like a normal skillet that might just have a chicken fryer lid. Could be wrong just shooting from the hip.

It's deep, just doesn't look it in  the photo.

Gary and Dwayne, Thank you, thank you for posting the pictures!  At least now I know what I'm looking for.  I figured the size might be side positioned since Vollrath did that on their other skillets.  Now I can start cruising eBay since the pickings are pretty slim around here.  If anyone has a Colony Chicken Fryer pan for sale, let me know... I'm in the market and on a mission.  Thanks again for the help.  Sandy
