Unusual small waffle iron?
« on: October 06, 2005, 12:43:33 PM »
It seems like I've seen this one discussed on here before, but not sure.  Anyone know anything about them?  Its only about 5" in diameter.

I can only guess Jerry, but I would suspect it is a Scandinavian (Norway, Sweeden, Denmark) import.  The 5 heart waffles are a scandinavian treat.  It could be sized for mini-swedes, but I suspect it is more like a child's toy, much like the Griswold toys.

(to be honest, I've seen some 5 heart waffle irons from Germany too.)

There is a seller on E-Bay who sells these waffle irons (new production) out of their e-bay store.

I used to have a somewhat similiar iron with about 4" irons in the same heart pattern and I think it was, at least, "older" as I have only seen one or two others years ago.   Very finely cast, it may have been a toy as Tom mentions but I really don't know.  I think it was not from the USA.
