For you, yes I wish it was cast iron too. And while you are wishing, you might as well wish it was in PERFECT CONDITION as well. When I was a child my father used to tell me that if I was going to wish, to wish BIG.  ::) ;D

Prices for gem pans have dropped off the cliff.  last cast iron wide band sold for $484.62 in January. Years ago, I remember one in aluminum sold for $600, so in today's market, I would guess at about $200-250.

I saw an aluminum WB 16 sell on ebay a while back.  Seems like it sold for less than $150 and it wan't that clean.  Less than $500 for the iron WB 16 is, like Greg said, dirt cheap.  These hardly ever show up.
