Need a value on a WagnerRound Roaster
« on: May 25, 2016, 12:08:02 PM »
My mother just gave me this Wagner Round Roaster.  It was my great grandmother's.  Markings on bottom are:

Wagner Ware with one "W" Sidney -0- Round Roaster 1268c

It has lid with drip drops, top of lid has 4 ring pattern between handle and edge.

can anyone tell me more about this dutch oven / roaster and what it is worth?  there is no rust on it and is well taken care of.

Hello Jeffrey and welcome to the WAGS Forum.  Sorry it's taken so long for you to get a response about your WW Round Roaster.

Unfortunately (or maybe not) the sentimental value is much higher than the monetary value.  I've seen these sell at auctions for as low as $15 and as high as $35.  Size 8 is the most common size roaster/Dutch oven manufacturers made back in the day and there was probably one in almost every kitchen across the country at one time.

Thank you for adding pictures.  Yours looks to have had a lot of use over the years and is still in good condition.  It's a great user and should serve you well for many years to come.

Hope this info helps.

Hello Jeffrey. And again welcome to WAGS. Going a little bit further on what Miss Sandy said, those came in sizes 6,7,8,9,10, and 11. That round design was also used on Oval Roasters in sizes, 3,5,7, and 9. I'm not sure if a size one was made in those or not. And that design was also used on a set of skillet covers made by Wagner. I know the skillet covers were made in sizes 5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12, and 14. But I have never seen a Wagner size 13 skillet cover. Anybody else seen one?

So Jeffrey as Sandy said you have a nice old piece with a lot of sentimental value. And with care it will last two more hundred years at least.
