Griswold THE ''NEW'' AMERICAN patent 1901
« on: May 10, 2016, 12:24:49 PM »
my brother bought this Griswold THE ''NEW'' AMERICAN for me for $17.00   I clean it up as best as I could ,. their is no cracks, repairs on it. I think it's in very good condition. what is this waffle iron worth? I only found one on E-bay and they want $110 for it. is this one common or hard to find?

Without the wooden handles, not a lot.  I think your base is an older style than most, but I wouldn't go so far as to say that it's rare.  Regular round size 8 waffle irons don't usually bring really high money, either.  I'm guessing that the chief selling point would be the base.  I hesitate to quote a price, but with no handles, I'd toss out $30 as a guess, if somebody liked the base.  With handles, maybe twice that.
