It is an Asian produced piece.

I know little beyond that.  :)

Probably not worth anything other than what someone is willing to give if they want to use it.

Let me try it again Duke.

Ah yes, you have a much recognized piece by the advanced and informed collectors. It was made by skilled artisans who were of the opinion that no home, nor any cast iron collection, would be truly complete without the addition of this example. And for that reason they have made this piece completely affordable at two dollars per dozen.

Looking at the underside of the lid I note that there is no downward projection to center the lid on what ever it covered and to keep it from sliding off so it would need to be used on a piece that had a stepped ridge on the inside of whatever you put it on.

Hello Valerie. After looking at this piece again I see exactly what you mean. More reason not to like it.  :)

Hey Duke, you are the resident 'trot line' expert here. Do you think what Valerie has correctly pointed out here would interfere with this piece being used for a 'trot line' weight?  :-/

Alright. I'm done.  :-X

I suspect the lid in the first post came from an Asian made 1 qt. saucepan like the one in this auction:

Hi Richard, I don't think it was a waste of anyone's time to answer, If no one asked questions then these boards would be a pretty dull place. Some people just have a certain style with their answers and it takes a while to get used to them...and no I ain't naming any names

Hello My Darling. Now we wouldn't be talking about anybody in particular, would we?  :-* ;D
