does anyone know the length and Diameter of the wood handles for these two pieces ,the handles that where on it look like they where replace. I do a lot of wood work so I think I could make a nice pair for each..i doubt if I could fine original handles for them..

Richard, I just took one of my paddles with me to the local hardware store and found some hardwood dowel stock to fit it. Might have to whittle a little for a snug fit, but that’s my advice.
As far as what you paid, I think the Alfred Andersen Rosette heart was a fair price, but for the one with hinge repair (and non-original handles), I think you over-paid. Damaged/repaired/non-original-parts cast iron is always worth less than that in excellent condition.
Just my thoughts.

I agree with Russell regarding value.   The Andresen iron is a Griswold product.  I no longer beleive the Western Importing iron was made by Griswold.  The base and paddles are all smaller than the Griswold irons.  The repaired iron itself is nearly worthless.  If it had been a Griswold base, then it would have been worth $25-$30, maybe a little more.  The problem with it is that because it is smaller in diameter, the Griswold irons will not fit properly on it.

These both REALLY need to have that oil stripped off and re-seasoned or just coated with mineral oil and wiped off.  Our cleaning section has instructions.
