Old flop griddle

I have this old flop griddle, and looking for info about it, Pant'd Aug 27 1870 ? and any idea on its value ?
Some one tn this griddles past really liked cooking with this ,I hav never seen or had a peice of cast iron so gummed up with burnt on oil/crud up to 1/4 inch thick in some places.
what stories it could tell. If intrested ask for more pictures by email. thanks

Maynard, I think Roger posted some patent info over on FB for you.

Looking at the pics on FB, it looks to be pretty much pitted up... and I think the wooden  handle is missing... reminds me a bit of my Highland Foundries flop griddle, but just not enough information to identify the maker.

Thank you for your help, the back side is pited but the cooking area is very smooth.

Hello Maynard. Thanks for dropping by. Have you ever used this flop griddle?  I know you know your way around in the kitchen is we why I ask. I hear when you get one of them fired up going you can knock a lot of pancakes out with one of them things. :)
