Griswold 703/2 skillet
« on: August 29, 2014, 10:35:04 PM »
A while ago, I came into possession of this skillet being told that it was worth something and to hold on to it. I was curious to find out exactly how much it is worth and also perhaps the rarity of the piece.

I do not know if you can tell from the pictures or not, but the color is closer to silver than the standard dark gray of cast iron. I am not sure if that is normal or if it has been plated at some point, but had it not been a griswold, I would not have been able to tell immediately that it was cast iron.

Any information anybody can share would be splendid. Thank you!

Hello Taylor. Welcome to WAGS.  :)

Of course its a Griswold number two and the number two's are all very collectible. The two's range in price from around seventeen hundred give or take to about three hundred dollars give or take. Yours here is called a Smooth Bottom Block Logo EPU. I can't tell from the pictures if its black iron or if its silver coated or chromed. If its chromed, unless its pristine, they are usually worth less. If your piece is black iron its worth around three hundred dollars give or take. If its silver, around 250 give or take. Hope that helps. And again welcome and thanks for stopping by.  :) :)
