Nickle-plated, slant TM, rim, ERIE #8 704 H skille
« on: May 20, 2014, 01:55:37 PM »
This was in the house in which I was born (1939) and raised (by grandparents).  It was not used much because it was too small - for most meals and my grandmother's cook preferred using the larger skillets that were not plated.  I inherited this along with many other pieces of "heavy metal" - no one else wanted them.
I think it is quite good condition, considering others I have seen (and I own a later one with much of the plating missing on the interior).
But I would like to get an approximate value from people who actually KNOW about these.

Hi Andrea, I checked the ebay completed listings and the nickel plated ones like yours are selling for around $30. I would think yours would be a little more than that, but not much.  The plated pieces generally have to be completely perfect to get top dollar, so no spots, rust, or imperfections. The black iron versions of that skillet are selling from around $50 to $100. Hope this helps and welcome to WAGS.

Thanks.  I know they are not as "collectible" as the bare metal ones but did not realize it was that little.
I've kept it this long, may as well hang onto it.

Now I need to post an inquiry about a bail griddle...
