Griswold No. 28 Wheat & Corn
« on: December 23, 2013, 04:55:04 PM »
I'm wondering what people can tell me about this No 28 Griswold Wheat & Corn stick pan that I picked up a couple of weeks ago in an antique shop.

Some of the things I'd be interested in knowing are: is it authentic?, when was it made?, rarity?, value? Basically, any information would be helpful.

Thanks,
Shawn

Looks like the real deal.    There is 4 different variations of this pan.  This is variation #4   Looks to be from the 1920's   Ebay sets the value.   Has there been any out?

I bought a variation #4 and a variation # 1 on E-Bay about a year ago. Paid $88 and $90  for them plus S&H. I was at a auction  this summer and seen the variation #4 go for $120. You see them on E-Bay about 1-2 times a month!

Thanks for all the info. I always like to know a bit of the history of what I use to cook.

Seems like I got a good deal at $50. I was a bit nervous when I bought it as it was covered in crud. So much so, that I could barely see Griswold on the back, but I could see the handles and they looked like the real deal (casting looked nice).

Even if it wasn't authentic, I've been wanting a wheat stick pan for a while now, so I think I would have been happy. But it's always good to know that it's a Griswold.

Thanks,
Shawn

Hello Shawn. At fifty dollars you did very good. And you cleaned it beautifully, and its in great shape. So congratulations.

Thanks for posting it.  :)
