Rectangular Lodge Roaster/Dutch Oven w/ Lid
« on: February 09, 2010, 04:32:57 PM »
Hey guys and gals,
Looking for some opinions on this piece. I'll have pictures up later today when I finish seasoning, but someone may know what I'm talking about. I'm not familiar with Lodge at all really. lol. I'm still learning how not to be a newbie with Griswold & Wagner.  :P  Anyhow, I picked this up last weekend for what I feel was a great price. I got it for $35 and its a seriously solid piece of iron. Its Roughly 9 1/2" wide, 20 1/2" long, and 6 1/2" tall. It has the lid that is marked with from what I understand to be the 1990's egg-in-skillet logo across the top of the lid and there is an N stamped under one of the handles on the Roaster. I'd just like to know if anyone has an approximate value as I am unable to find anything on this piece. Thanks in advance!  ;D

Questions: Is it oval? Does it have Made in USA and a 4 digit number on the bottom? and on the bottom of the lid does it any lettering?
Seen it all. Done it all. Can't remember most of it!

Well Sam, Those should answer most of your questions. Let me know if you have any input or if you have any other questions. The only markings are the Egg-in-skillet logo on the lid and the N under the handle. Let me know! Thanks!!  :)

I like the looks of that one Jacob. Haven't seen one. But I bet Sam has about 6 of them stacked up in their boxes somewhere  :)

If the bottom part is approximately 20 X 12 X 3 you have what they called a Lodge Fish Pan. If you decide to sell it, let me know...

Ray I don't have 6, only 2, and although both of them are new only one of them is in a box. :)

Are we in agreement that this is a Lodge?

Unless it's a recast with their Logo on top :)

OH, I SEE SAM, I couldn't quite make that out. It looked like the Virgin Mary to me, I was just wondering if somebody else seen it too.  :o

Hey Sam,

Those dimensions aren't deep enough for this. The exact dimensions are 5 1/2" tall (w/ lid), 4 1/4" (w/o lid), 20 1/2" long (with handles), and 9 1/2" wide. Is this still a Fish pan as you describe it? Thanks for the info! Haven't decided If I wanna sell it or hold onto it yet, but I'll definetly let you know.

Also, I highly doubt its a recast, just from being able to inspect and hold it in person, its very nice quality and the lid fits perfectly. Anyone else seen or have this exact pan? Thanks guys!

Hey Perry,
I'm  a lil slow sometimes.  :P Hahaha... I'm curious cause I can't seem to find another picture or anything on this exact sized pan. I have seen some of the other Fish pans however You can tell by the Holes in the handles and the overall shape that the pan is wider and more shallow that the one I've posted. The one above is more narrow and deeper than i can find. Also, I can't seem to find ones that have lids on them. Thats why I'm stumped/intrigued.  :)

Jacob, every one I have seen has a lid on it. I have one. Its not rectangular like yours, but oval.

No it's not a recast, I was just pulling Perry's chain, and thanks for keeping me in mind if you decide to sell. I'll pay what you think might be a fair price, if it's not too high. I'm not buying to resell, just to add to the few hundred pieces of Lodge I have.
