Walk softly and carry a big stick!!!!!!!! ;)  May help if I break a few fingers before the sale starts.

All are not finger bidders Anthony. If the auctioneer don't find me soon enough I will, and do, yell, so be governed accordingly.  ;)

If you get it, and you want a little #3 to go with it, I just found one in my "box of whatnot" I forgot about it.

A green enameled #3. We were talking about a green enameld piece, weren't we?  ;D

That's what I get for coming in late.  :D

Chuck, thats fine. Every dog don't bark at the same time. So jump right in.

We are talking about a number 8 enameled dutch oven, that is green. And you said you had a #3 to go with it, I thought you might be talking about a number 3 enameled Griswold Dutch Oven, you know, to go with the other dutch oven, that. I think you are talking about a number 3 porcelain skillet, right?

Weeellllll--------I went to the auction and guess what---- the green dutch oven is a yellow dutch oven that someone used a cheap camera to take a pic of!  Anyway it went cheap, so here are the pics.  Any suggestions on cleaning the brown out of the bottom?

Well I guess my green #3 skillet is a mute point since the DO is yellow.  ;D  Looks like a nice one Tony. I'm not up to speed on cleaning this type of finish, but someone should be along soon. Did you ever see if it had a bail handle or not? I remember you were going to check.

Nope, no bail on this one, I think it was jeff seago that mentioned these not having a bail due to chipping of the enamel. Did a little digging around in the books and online for the lid and it appears that this oven had a glass lid with the little drip-drop ring on it.

Anthony I believe that you can clean any enamel surface with baking soda and water with absolutely no ill effects (its what they use in toothpaste).  It should bring the stains.  If it does not work be very careful about what you use as some things might harm the surface if there are any flaws.

Well ain't that a kick in the rear, Yellow!!! Still less common than red..
Yea glass cover with the porcelain interior pieces, no bail on these that I know of , less someone added it.
I have used bleach HOWEVER! make sure the porcelain is not chipped or scratched to the bare iron or you end up with rust stain.. I have let bleach stand in a piece for a few days before any results.  Someone mentioned Efferdent, I never tried that, sounds plausible..

There are also commercial products out there.. Never tried any of these either.  Jeffs baking soda solution sounds very good.. Think I will try it on a Blue favorite I have...

Be sure to follow Eds' advice about the bleack. I destroyed a very nice piece of Griswold Quaker Ware when I soaked the inside with bleach. Any little pin hole will let the bleach reach the iron, and will cause a stain to develop under the coating that can't be removed. It's not one of my proudest moments. I still have the piece, but can't bare to look at it. It's to depressing.
